Procedures at the clinic

Procedures at the clinic

  • Neutering
  • Abdominal surgery
  • Soft-tissue surgery, such as removing tumours

What to expect

The details depend on your pet and the procedure.

  1. Before the operation

For most neuterings, the clinic carries out a health check; blood tests or X-rays may also be needed. The veterinarian tells you which checks apply to your pet. When booking, the clinic gives you your pet’s food, water and medication instructions, following current international veterinary guidance.

  2. The day of surgery

Your pet comes to the clinic for the operation. The team explains what happens afterwards and when your pet may be ready to go home.

  3. Follow-up

The team tells you when to bring your pet back for a check and, if there are stitches, to have them removed.
